Physical Description | Sulair has the build of a swimmer; his body has the thinner lines of a Vulcan yet the human side from his father show through. He wears clothes that are fitted well enough to allopw movement and his walk is measured but natural. His expression is of impassive; he could look through you and yet not; his gaze is an evaluation in his mind of things. He carries himself with an air of knowing; his Vulcan Veneer is not as pronouced as some Vulcans. His body has no scars nor does he show off the physique; his gaze does have a piercing aspect to it and despite the stoic veneer one glance at him will tell there is more than what he projects. His attire is a vanity; the fact he lives a creed about his attire being a statement of him. Even when out of uniform his attire project his belief in himself. |

Personality & Traits
General Overview | Sulair is a contradiction; not much of a stretch for a half Vulcan trying to be more of a Vulcan that the pure bred ones. This is more of a goal with Sulair; he is striving to be closer to Kolinar but it does not consume him. It is perhaps from the parental roles; his Father being the human that allowed his son to feel emotions? Sulair tried to follow the teachings of Surack; that emotions are to be experienced and dealt with; usually Vulcans try to use sheer logic to suppress their emotions; not Sulair, he takes in the experience and filters it through his being. HE can emote if there is a logical reason to do so; he will express more emotion in his voice than his expressions; it is where the human side is shown through. A stoic veneer is easy but a calm tone is much harder for Sulair. Sulair can be as light in tone as he n harsh depending on the warranting situation; his expressing of his words says more of his emotion than his expressions and manners. In times of extreme emotion a slight darkening to his eyes for anger or even what some might call a sparkle when elated. He seeks to bring honor to his human side and be logical for his Vulcan side, finding himself a happy medium. One human aspect is his competitive nature helps spur him on in life. He does take his duty very seriously; any disrespect towards him does spark stronger reactions, it is as though his duty is a reflection of his being and he is overly protective of his reputation. He has a long fuse emotionally but would not be one to have that fuse ignite the powder box of his emotions he keeps a strict control of. In times of stress he will seek to leave the situation before it escalates beyond his control to manage. |

History
Personal History | Sulair is the only child of his Father Nicolas Ferreno and Mother Shelar; her Vulcan side of the family were not happy that the Grandson was born on Earth rather than the home planet of Vulcan. It put a small rift in the family to begin; though Nicolas did not hinder or do anything to stop the Vulcan teachings to his son. It was also true Nicolas treat his son just as that, his son. There were many human traditions that Nicolas insisted his son do such as the time honored game of Bocci Ball with the massive family gatherings at holidays. Nicolas' family accepted the Vulcan blood as they would a human; just glad to having a strapping young grandson. Other kids were not so kind; as Shelar insisted in Vulcan schooling as well as human lessons in equal proportions. The Ferreno family were merchants and private tutors were able to be given to Sulair. He was not indoctrinated to Vulcan or Human culture totally. He also found that this equal understanding of both cultures caused him clashing with both halves of his heritage. What they found is that Sulair had his father in him as well as his Vulcan mother and the boy could be competitive in many things and had to learn to keep his superior strength from taking over. An accident in football when he 'bulled through the defensive line to 'stick' the Quarterback ended that career and taught Sulair about playing fair in the physical department. Shelar made an announcement; a Vulcan and loosely followed tradition among humans had intersected. As much as Sulair acted like his father he did have Vulcan blood in him. In the Vulcan Embassy a delegate had a young daughter the same age as Sulair. Shelar had made inquiries and had secured enough of an impression to agree to have the two children meet. Sular was young but he could tell from his cousins girls were different. Taking the two children Tunari was a cute Vulcan Girl with surprising dimples. Sular thought she would be fun to lay with as he would not have to hold back as much. The two families put the children's hands to each others heads and the “touched but not touched.. known bt not known… was about all he really remembered. But he knew her better than anyone after that, and his lessons at the Embassy would be more interesting with a friend like her. His father sought a way for his son to learn balance and the Martial Arts tended to work mind body and Spirit; this was to be a gratifying and important part of his young life and well into his adulthood. As he grew he took the disciplines and control in all aspects of his life; he promoted only to use equal force in his competitions. It was near his first decade of life he met a Ferengi child; a male who had run some scam to make profits. It was the shell game; a human game this Ferengi child learned of and put to good use collecting 'milk money' from 'Customers. Sulair did not see it that way he saw 'suckers' being fleeced. Sulair could have easily beaten the cheater at his own game or taken the matter more privately between them. His first choice was to confront the Ferengi and convince the boy not to cheat. That failed so Sulair exposed the game for the tricks used and shrugged it as 'paying the piper' when you cheat. It was in his fist years of school and 'finger painting that Sulair was able to accurately copy things with paint to a greater degree than the other children; he thought he had done something wrong and tried not to be overly emotional in front of his Mother; who would press him to contain and cover the ill feelings. Nicolas did not take it so lightly and marched his son to the teacher ; who had not expressed herself correctly, she saw artistic potential in Sulair. He was taught to paint and found he had a talent enough to paint and make some spending money with his art. Tunari was pouting; she denied that a Vulcan pouts but Sulair knew better. The girl made a logical reason why it did not matter to her and left Sulair for a week, never looking at him as thought; were she human, was mad and avoiding him. Going into his teen years Sulair was pretty good at most sports but not great as they did not hold his attention; physical sports with finesse were considered 'wimpy' and brute strength was not fair. Sulair saw a girl; she was even a cute girl with longer legs in flesh toned tights and a very micro skirt that wrapped around her body suit as she extended her arms and with seemingly effortless motions propelled herself along the ice. She was skating on a rink that had frozen water upon it, the grace of the blonde girl was enthralling to him. Logically she had a nice curves as she was entering her womanhood; yet she had a grace to her as sh spun and leapt upon the ice. He could only watch her, he had to remain in his place and while his expression was that of a Vulcan he did not wish to suppress the feelings; he had a human side and it was logical to note beauty. His father noticed his son as well; putting an arm around his shoulder. “They sure do make Ice Skaters pretty don't they?” It was another intense learning project; he wanted not only to be with the girl; he later met her as Cynthia, but he also wanted that grace himself. When his Ice Skating Instructor realized the strength potential of Sulair he opened the door for Sulair to 'couples skate.' It was not hard for Sulair to get the technical methods bui the 'artistic side meant showing emotions. He understood they existed in him and when he could touch a girl's hand or hoist her in a graceful dance upon the ice he found channeling that sensation of emotions and it related to his painting that showed aspects of his emotion. He need only channel the lighter emotions he received from skating to get pleasing marks from the judges. Anyone who called him the Smiling Ice Vulcan Boy was promptly pounded due to a loss of emotional tolerance by Sulair. The side effect is Sulair got to be noticed by the cute girls that wore shorter dresses and could carry themselves well in them. Tunari had 'logical poise' from her Vulcan breeding and being a diplomat's daughter; to prove it she was able to wear the same skirts as those skaters, she had watched all his competitions as well. Learning the Merchant style pattern with his Father Nicolas ; the Logistical handling of the business as well as manual labor helped keep Sulair strong of body and wise in business sense. HE did several school business models for reports and presentations for his 'English' style courses. He started to study the Language of the Ferengi; the major competition out in the stars. In the Art of War he learned to know his enemy as he knew himself; while business is not actually physical combat, it was a competition to be won. Upon achieving his higher belts and discipline Sulair had become more calm; his emotional outlets were his skating, his Martial training, the business, playing his flute and painting. He had accumulated skills along his life and nearing his late teens had to make a decision. Nicolas told Sulair to go out and find his place for a while then when ready the business would always be his. The family of cousins and other blood relatives band together for the family business; Sulair would inherit his share when it came time but he could go out nda find himself as well. The academy called to him; he took the Operations Route of course since it most resembled what he had done all his life. The Logistical end; the ordering of supplies and other laborious lessons were boring to him; it gave him time to work on the ship's systems, the Communications Array was a curiosity to him, he focused upon that as his major. The Transporters and replicators fascinated him in his second year. He would study at all hours and need be reminded to 'play a little. Tunari attended the Academy as well; taking on the Diplomatic studies; it was her family business so Sulair just accepted it. It was in her first year that she invited him as her escort to formal gatherings both real and practice. His knowledge of dancing helped her to be impressive; she also was soft to his touch and he did not admit to her she did spark reactions no other girl did. They both kept close as the Academy seemed to know something and did not do anything to stop constant contact between them. Sulair did not mind it and found himself wanting to be around her more often; she started to make his blood warmer by just being around and his concentration was beginning to wane a bit. He began to lok very forward to her presence; he desired her to be around him. She seemed to be a high point of his day; she logically told him they were meant to be together yet little slips of emotion cam ethrough as well; very unlike the proud girl he grew up with. In the third year Sulair earned some extra work in orbit; he had missed being in space while 'grounded' at the academy. He longed to be out there; out where it counted. He had to be on a three day rotation, his communication skills on the array helped with the upgrade and the training in suits was little more than secondary training for a merchant's son. But the rest periods were harder; he felt restless and his head hurt a bit. He found more meditations were required as he worked to maintain himself. His studies were top notch but his personal side was aching. It was when he landed; he felt a presence in the reception area. He was barely out when Tunari threw herself; quite literally, into his chest and tried to kiss him as though it were mouth to mouth life saving thing. He liked it and caressed her back while savoring the emotion, he could sense she felt similar and while it irritated a part of her she loved it more than she wanted to admit. From then on it was well established that Tunari and Sulair were an item; they spent all free time together and it was natural. Both seemed more themselves between 'interludes' and it was not hard to know the Time of Pon Far was rapidly upon them. Ten days in their senior year was not much of a set back, the ritual was held on Embassy soil; grounding brought from Vulcan just for such a purpose. To say they attacked one another in a very carnal way is an understatement; the time of mating; their first Pon Far, was a blur they enjoyed to the fullest. The remainder of the senior year they dwell together as they were bonded and all. He had to admit he missed the girls with skirts about 'ZERO' percent of the time as she who is his mate beat them all hands down. Sulair graduated in the top three percentile, not really near the top slots but well above the margin. The Cadet cruise was the first parting between Tunari and Sulair; it was a bitter sweet thing but as they were both on cadet runs they would be back around the same time. The USS Calvary had a routine to it and Sulair took to it well, he had the Gamma Shift of Communications and OPS console every other day. He did not care so long as there was work to be done; people murmured behind his back about his Vulcan ability to remember; thye did not know he was a merchant's son and this routine was his normal. It was on the 'Damage Control simulation; Gamma being the third, that Sulair was diving into a Jeffery Tube to get quicker access to the damaged systems when the ship rocked a bit. Most thought it a part of the simulation, he continued to his destination and made a quick repair to the simulated damage in the panel. But the system did not react right. The ship lurched again as something was very wrong. Sulair moved to the back of the tubs to note klaxons sounding that were not a part of the simulation. The sparks that were thought to be pyrotechnics were real, the system wide over load had shocked and crippled the systems. Sulair went into the tubes again; he was near the Main Array; the connections were frayed and gel packs leaking; he had to use a delicate touch, he had learned how to 'patch' gels so to save on costs as a kid on the family ships during runs. While the packs were not full there was enough left after he sealed them to make a powered restart. The reconnection allowed the Main Comm Array to send the distress signal. The USS Tirpitz gave Sulair the chance to be an OPS officer; he was given the Damage control team closest to the Communications systems, he also became a regular at the Beta Shift OPS Console. His skills with Logistics were gaining him momentum. An attack came while he was on the bridge, during the red alert the shielding collapsed and the bridge was at the edge of a hull strike. The OPS panel was not severely damaged and Sulair kept at his post until the Battle Bridge could gain contol, he bypased systems and kept as much power as he could from the subsystems to gain shield power at the Tactical Panel. He helped gat the 'living' crew off the bridge before the field s dropped and the hull breached. The actions gained him a transfer to a ship and upgrade. Tragity struck as word arrived that his Mate had been on a delegation to a founding application when Pirate raids destroyed the runabout carrying the whole delegation, all hands were lost. The USS Sentinel had a new Assistant OPS Officer; his Chief was a 'twenty year man' who felt his 'deputy' could do a lot of the filing of paperwork and requisitions. After dealing 'logically' with the loss Sultair put all his efforts into his duty; trying to keep from the emotions he desperately wanted to avoid. As a result of his added diligence the efficiency of the ship's operations was noted and of course the Chief took the pats on the back. Sultair was emotional and his lack of notice ate away at him, he wanted to know he was doing well? It was a minor check of records would show his contributions made quietly from the sidelines. It was when Sultair noticed the paperwork was 'approved' by the chief and made to look like he was doing it that Sultair lost a bit of his temper; he went up the chain and noted the facts to the Executive Officer logically going the next level up. The Chief gave the story of letting his subordinate do the job ; but 'watched him like a hawk' is the official story. The addded resources and lack of effort wasted on resupply gave another feather to the Assistant OPS. It was decided that such good Logistics and his past record made him ready for promotion. As the men could not work together well the transfer was immediate. Sultair was transferred to the USS Ragnarok to be the Chief Operations Officer. While serving on the Ragnarok he had an experience in the Mirror universe as the ship was sucked across through an anomoly. The ship was severly damaged ; found refuge with the rebel faction and after dry dock repairs several engagements on an Ascension class vessel in the carrier configuration. After some time and while the ship was in refit he requested transfer to another vessel. Languages: Vulcan,Italian, Fed standard, Ferengi, |
