Physical Description Kit’rin’e is everything one might expect from a Caitian from the large build, tall figure, a certain grace in his movements and his feline appearance. The sort that’s ‘Hard to miss, easy to remember’ variety. Standing in at 7'6 from floor to ear tip and of a large build to suggest his heavy weight it is however healthy and normal for felines of his age to be such weight. It comes without saying that Kit'rin'e possesses that feline predator appearance, whiskers, 4 very large and sharp dominant fangs, claws and a tail. The latter being dangerous for anyone to step on or touch.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Kit’rin’e is a very private individual, his interaction with females has been seen as very respectful yet standard towards males. He holds true to many traditions observed and read about on Caitians which explains his respect for females. On Cait females hold the positions of authority, heads of the household. He gets on very well with others, accepting of other peoples cultures and racial qualities, accepting of other traditions and qualities. He is plagued by something in his past that he does not talk about to others, even counsellors. While this has not had an impact on his duties and how he carries them out, it has left many of his department heads worry about him and want to help.

Kit’rin’e doesn’t talk much about his personal life and will often shy away or divert a conversation away from anything sensitive, this always includes anything religion based or anything more than his family names.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths: Caitians have keen hearing and eyesight as well as a highly developed sense of smell. Much like the felines they resemble they are fast runners though only for short periods of time, they are also very capable natural climbers. The muscle structure of Caitians is dense and very tight so much so that performing feats that would be considered impossible for other species impossible or difficult to do such as from a crouched or seated position. For instance Caitians can with some room gather suitable speed to leap a 40 foot distance, or jump almost 30 feet straight up or onto a ledge above.

Weaknesses: Loneliness, is his constant companion something which has travelled the years with him and as a result he is not often seen at social events or locations, choosing instead to stay within his quarters surrounded by his culture. Appearance is also vital but also a weakness for him during shedding season, he feels that nobody should see him when he is leaving fur all over the place and that nobody should see their leader in such a way to cause undue worry. Another weakness for Kit’rin’e is he does not like talking of home as it brings back feelings of missing it and his family having been sometime since he last set foot on it. Caitians have a fragile bone structure, bones are broken or fractured in far less hostile environments then what most would suffer injury, a heavy fall is capable of dislocation or even in extreme cases, bone breakage. Injury to the tail will disrupt his balance as it is key to his ability to walk. Near the age of 60, the Caitian heart becomes weak with age, as a result, medical practice on Cait has made huge medical leaps in swift organ replacements, only now suffering the most minor of delays in surgery.
Ambitions To find a posting more suited to his needs. Somewhere stable without possibility of constantly moving around while granting him the opportunity to develop his own skill sets. Having reached a department head position, he hopes to make Sha'la'ne proud one day by finding a worthy Mate to present to the Elder.
Hobbies & Interests Kit’rin’e has often been seen coming and going from the Holodeck in what appears to be work out attire. His programs are encoded so only a title is given and always listed as his name and a number so to not reveal what the program contains. It has been noted by his former Commanding Officer that Kit’rin’e does try and excel in everything he does, even off duty. It's clear that Kit'rin'e is very driven by cultural and racial beliefs, as a result he does make friends quickly, even if that was not his intent.

History

Personal History Kit’rin’e joined Starfleet as soon as he was able to leave the Homeworld. He arrived at Earth a few weeks later and enrolled two months after that. The Academy was a steep challenge for him, many people didn’t understand him, few even took the opportunity and often treated him for exactly what he appeared to be. He entered into the Engineering Branch, learning to fix starships of all shapes and sizes and relishing them as they came scoring very well in each examination. Kit’rin’e suffered worst during his forth and final year as a Cadet, while undergoing his shedding season forcing him to undertake his studies in a private room alone for 3 weeks. During this time one of the students along with three others barged into the room and began to verbally abuse Kit’rin’e. A fight broke out leaving the three student in the medical ward for nearly 6 weeks, Kit’rin’e was injured as well which earned him a 2 week stay.

News of this spread quickly between the students and with Kit’rin’e the first student out of the medical ward, there was a noted sense of fear of him, many students kept a distance or avoided him. Should also be noted that the three attackers never touched Kit’rin’e again afterwards.

There was a clear and visible depression seen in him during sports events, due to his bone structure Kit’rin’e was unable to play sports, he understood why but many instructors and even a few class mates felt sorry for him.

Kit’rin’e after graduating as an Ensign Kit’rin’e was assigned to the Galaxy Class USS Canada as a Engineering Officer. He saw this as he first real opportunity to demonstrate his abilities and the skills he learnt at the Academy. His tour however proved to be much less than he’d hoped, instead of being able to take shifts like most of the staff he was tasked with menial duties that kept him away from the Engineering room and from what he trained to do. Though determined he kept this routine up for over two years because requesting a transfer. His transfer was approved and he found himself posted to the Akira Class USS Akagi, again as a Engineering Officer.

During this posting he was able to do that which he was unable to on the Canada, he enjoyed the posting and engaged in additional qualifications and ratings to better improve his skills beyond what was taught at the Academy. Three years of dedicated effort earned himself a promotion to Lt.Jg and position of Team Leader. Soon after he was posted to the USS Nobel, a Defiant Class assigned to patrol a remote sector for raiding parties that had been plaguing the shipping lanes for some time. Kit’rin’e along with 4 others in a shuttlecraft landed on a planet which seemed to harbor some strange readings. What they didn’t know was that the readings were actually the energy signatures of the raiders base of operations. The shuttlecraft was shot down, Kit’rin’e was able to make an emergency landing but the crash killed Lt.Commander Samuels. Kit’rin’e blamed himself for her death even though many others said it was not his fault and did the best he could with the landing under extreme conditions. Repairing the shuttle was impossible and unknown to the team the Noble was forced away by superior forces. Kit’rin’e was locating firewood for the team when a firefight broke out, by the time he got back the rest of the team was dead and shuttle being stripped of anything of use or value. The Noble returned but was swiftly destroyed when an EM torpedo struck the ship disrupting shipboard operations. Such a disruption caused the antimatter containment field to fail destroying the ship and one of the raiders that was preparing to board her. Kit’rin’e was stranded for 167 days on the planet, rescued by the USS Halsey which had come to respond to the same pirates as the Noble had done. However the Halsey with its superior tactical capability dealt with the pirates and beamed Kit’rin’e aboard as well as some prisoners that were left stranded following the destruction of the raider ships. Following a tough time at Starfleet Command to explain what his account of events were leading to the destruction of the USS Noble, for his actions on the planet and managing to survive for an extended period alone he was promoted to full Lieutenant and once he'd recovered sent to his next assignment.
