Physical Description | At first glance, it’s difficult to see Kaden’s Klingon heritage. He is slightly taller than the average Human at 6’1”, but much shorter than most Klingons. It is clear, especially when he is shirtless that he takes care of himself and is well-defined. But he is not overly muscular either. The typical Klingon forehead ridges are noticeable if one is looking carefully, but, unless he is tired or angry they’re not pronounced. His hair is the color of dark roasted cocoa beans and he wears it moderately short and stylish his eyes are charcoal gray. He wears an anchor beard, the hair of which is a shade darker than the hair on his head. When not in uniform, his clothing is more Terran than Klingon and he prefers casual and comfortable over smart and stylish. Which is not to say he doesn’t dress up if the situation calls for it It is his skin tone, a dark bronze, more than his forehead ridges that point to his hybrid nature. |

Personality & Traits
General Overview | While Kaden’s anatomy, physiology, and appearance were a product of a combination of genetic codes, his personality is more complex that than the input of two very different role models. His mother, the human in the equation had been a medical missionary sent to a remote Klingon colony. She was deeply committed to her faith, a healer, an artist. His father was never fully convinced of Christianity, was a warrior and a pilot who did not care one with about art, or music. He only cared about conquest and honor. Kaden would rather talk than fight his way out of a situation, but sometimes his temper turns nasty and he has to fight to keep under control at times. Like his father, he’s a consummate pilot, he is perhaps even better than his father. Unlike either parent, he is a poet He enjoys Klingon opera, but wouldn’t be caught singing it to anyone other than himself. (He has joked that women and children would flee if he sang too loudly), and while that might be a bit of an exaggeration, it’s not much of one. He is skilled with a bat’ leth, but in this instance, his father is much better. Finally, under different circumstances, Kaden would have made a good con-man. He can be persuasive and he has connections in low and high places. He ’s good at scrounging or finding useful and sometimes not so useful items. He is very protective and especially close to his half-sister Angie. She is three years his senior and fully human being born to his mother Sari and her first husband. He doesn’t think of her as a half-sister, just a sister. She was until she turned fifteen, his brother Andrew. Neither parent each for their own reasons understood how she felt, why she came to know that she was really a girl. Since he was only twelve Kaden didn’t really understand either, but he was accepting and supportive and they became closer |

Strengths & Weaknesses | Kaden is very protective of those he loves and cared for, to the point of putting himself in harm’s way. Being protective is a positive character trait, but it can also be used against him. Except when innocents are hurt he doesn’t anger easily, it takes far more to provoke him, than it would a typical full-blooded Klingon but, once triggered his anger is explosive and it’s hard for him to bring himself back under control. Kaden has a strong moral compass, and while he usually plays by the rules obeys orders and follows the chain of command, usually is not always. The same tongue that is charming and can get him(and others) out of nasty situations, can also get him into trouble when he speaks too freely. Kaden doesn’t have a lot of friends in high places or connections within Starfleet, but he does have friends in low places. |

Ambitions | For now, Kaden just wants to be the best pilot that he can. One day he may, like the majority of his young officers in the fleet, want to command his own ship. But for now, the hybrid man is still getting used to the culture of the Federation and way things work there. On a personal level, he’s not actively looking for a companion to spend the rest of his life, but he wouldn’t avoid if the right person came along. He does eventually want to have a family. | |
Hobbies & Interests | Kaden enjoys spending time outdoors and any activity that is physically challenging, like rock climbing or parasailing. He enjoys spending time in the holodeck, Klingon opera and practicing with his bat’leh. He also is a poet |
History
Personal History | In 2360 Sarai Marshal met Jonathan Winter She was a medical student a John Hopkins and he was Trinity Divinity School. They met at the church where he was interning at. They fell in love and got married a year later. In 2360, they welcomed their first son Andrew into the world. The happy family did not stay happy, however. Nine months after Andrew was born Jonathan was killed in an explosion in downtown Baltimore orchestrated by a group of renegade Klingons. Being the kind of woman that she was, she didn’t think of retaliation. Instead, she spent six months training with KIM Klingon Interquadrant Missions, By that time she had completed her medical training as well and chose to go Khaless 2, a remote Klingon colony. It really wasn’t sanctioned by either the Federation brass nor the Klingon Empire, Khaless 2 was too volatile and unstable. So, she and her team hired a group of bodyguards. One of those was Nagal an exceptionally big and burly warrior, who also happened to be a helmsman who was between ships. Eventually, the two of them despite their cultural differences and the fact that Nagal never embraced his new wife’s faith, fell in love and got married. Kaden was born on May 31,·23652387. Since the only non-Klingons on the planet were the missionary team and Andrew and Kaden. Both boys had it tough going for different reasons. Andrew because he was human and Kaden because he was a “half breed” Their mother gave them strong support, their father his grudging support, but outside of the home they only had themselves so they grew quite close. Nagal did treat Kaden a little better than Andrew, after all, he was half Klingon, but this didn’t cause any friction between the two boys. It was just assumed that Kaden would follow in his father’s footsteps and Andrew in his mother’s. In a way, this was exactly what happened. Kaden was trained in all things Klingon and was on his way to buying into it completely. By the time he was eleven he was larger than Andrew and had become the protector. He was very good at talking their way out of situations and using his fists when he couldn’t use his mouth. They were both continuing to get their share of abuse, but it was starting to lessen some. When he was twelve Andrew came to him with a confession that shocked him. It was something he’d been feeling for quite a while but had only defined for himself about six months ago. He was really a she. Though Kaden was really clueless about the implications, he was supportive. They eventually told their parents and neither was very supportive., but they at least tried to be protective. Then when one of Sarai’s patients found out everyone in the area found out as well. When Kaden was fifteen they sent Andrew back to Earth. Kaden left home when he was seventeen when he was recruited by a “merchant” He spent three years in the Gamma Quadrant on the Lancer where he met a lot of people. Most of them were low-lifes and riff-raffs, but they had their connections and a lot of interesting goods. After one too many close calls with the authorities, he decided if you can’t beat them, join them. So that is what he did. He joined Starfleet. After spending four years at the Academy he graduated as an Ensign. The last two years he has been the Flight Control Officer for the Dauntless, a Defiant class ship. |
