Like the Type 12 Phaser Arrays this phaser array has impressive firepower. However it is more efficient on power consumption and has a more focused beam density. Starfleet Corps of Engineers has taken the old Type 12 and made it quicker, more powerful, improved its accuracy and made it less power hungry.
