Mission: Errand of Mercy
Location: Lounge
Timeline: ED5 2130

:ON:

Who knows how many times he has visited the lounge. Usually, after getting his exercises in the holodeck or after his shift where he needed some down time, Mikail welcomes himself to the lounge to have something to eat and drink. Nothing has been changed in the days that he has been here.

One table, same man from engineering with a female companion, chatting and laughing. Another table, alien species that he is not completely familiar with. Other tables, once-in-a-while with different faces that comes and goes. This time, he didn't expect to see the Captain and his wife, his boss in sickbay, to be at one table near the double doors. Maybe they come at a different shift?

He ordered his food and ate in silence. Wish there was some Vodka, he thought, remembering the parties he had with his friends back in Russia, celebrating whatever holidays the day lands on. There would be drinking, dancing, singing, and some drinking contest. As a doctor now, he is familiar that the alcohol is not good for the liver. "Moe yad," he whispered in Russian, then translate in his mind for my poison

Azura nodded to Keisha and sipped at his drink as they looked out at the stars in the large windows of the ship's main lounge. He was happy that the Redemption hadn't suffered heavy damage from the ships that had assaulted her but something still didnt feel right with him. There was another shoe and he knew it was going to drop, and when it did things were going to go pear-shaped.

Maggie felt like being in a crowd. So, tonight, she headed for the lounge rather than going to her quarters. She was surprised to see several people she knew. She smiled a greeting at the others and went to get herself a drink of hot cocoa and a plate of buttered toast.

Keisha reached across the table to Azura, and squeezed his hand trying to ease the anxiety that only she knew he was feeling. Their bond was slowly reinstating itself and it was a joyous relief to once more feel him in her mind. An irony that was not lost on her, considering how angry she'd been the first time he'd touched her mind.

He smirked at her as he pulled his eyes away from the vista out before them. ~It has been some time, do you still hear me?~ He looked over at Kolmak and nodded to him raising his glass in a salute before taking a sip and looking back at his wife.

~Always~ she sent back, as a blush touched her cheeks.

~Good, you want something to drink?~ he asked as he looked back over his shoulder to the bar.

~Surprise me~ came the unexpected answer from Keisha.

==Meanwhile at another table===

Doctor Kolmak smiled and nodded his head to acknowledge the lady with black hair who just entered in a security uniform. He remembered her being in sickbay and was treated by Doctor Afton a few days ago. He watched her walked passed him until she was behind him. Must be getting a drink at the bar, he assumed. Mikail placed his fork to the side of his plate after finishing his steak, mashed potatoes, and corn. He picked up his drink to take a couple of sips.

Maggie turned and looked for a place to sit down. It was not too crowded, but most of the tables had a person or two seated at them. She looked for someone she knew.

Just as he was about to set his drink down, someone in his peripheral vision appears to be standing as if the person was lost and he turned to look. The woman that just came in... As soon as her eyes were in his view, he made a short wave and grin. He gestured the chair, wondering if she will sit with him. He was hoping for some company and to meet new faces.

Maggie saw the wave and took a moment to place his face. Medical. She smiled and headed over to his table. "Thank you," she said, taking a seat he indicated. "I'm Magdalena Doyl. Nice to meet you."

"Doctor Mikail Kolmak at your service. You can call me Mikail as I'm off duty and it is nice to meet you, too. I remember your face but not your name when you were being treated with Doctor Afton," Mikail smiled. "I don't know too many as I'm still new to the ship," he glanced around the lounge but stopped when he found the Captain and his boss were eating together. Looking back at Magdalena, "I assume you are in security?"

"Yes, I am. You can call me Maggie." She saw his eyes stop and turned to see what he was looking at. The Captain and his wife. She smiled and turned back to Mikail. "How do you find the Redemption so far?"

He noted that her eyes were pure black. It was a tale-sign of the Betazoids, species that are known for reading emotions. "Big ship. I'm settling in good." The doctor picked up his drink to take a sip. "Too many people to remember all their names," he smirked. He placed his drinking glass back on the table. "Maggie. Where are you from? Betazed?"

Maggie shook her head. "No. I'm from Mexico on Earth. My father is Betazoid, though. And you? Where are you from?"

"Oh. My wrong guess. I'm from a small town outside of Moscow in Russia. Moi roditeli, my parents, still live there. I'm the only child to them." He picked up his empty glass, turned to look at behind him to get the waiter's attention and held the glass up in the air. Turning back to look at Maggie, "Do you need more to drink?"

"No, I'm fine, thanks," Maggie said.

Less than a minute, a man in a bartender uniform showed up to take Mikail's glass. "Just mine to be refilled."

===Back at the Captain's Table===
Azura stood and nodded to his wife to head to the bar. As he moved through the lounge stopping at various tables to inquire as to how the occupants were. This was his time to get a feel for the crew and how they were handling the current mission. He had picked up this habit from one of his former CO's and decided it would be beneficial to continue. As he reached the table where Magdalena and Mikail were he called out. "Commander, Lieutenant, how does the evening find you two?"

"It's a good night for meeting people," Maggie said. "How is your evening going?"

"It is a good place to contemplate and no better company as well." He turned to look at the lieutenant at the table.

Mikail looked up. "Nice to see you here, Captain. It's nice to get refreshed for the next shift...good here. How about your evening, sir?"

"It is going well enough, everything is well in your departments?"

"As well as expected," Maggie replied. She couldn't help smiling as she thought of everything she still had to do. But, even so, it was going about as well as expected, if not a little better.

"Just as well," Mikail said.

Azura nodded to them then turned to head to the bar making stops along the way to talk with the crew. Once he made it to the bar he ordered two drinks and waited for them to be brought to him so he could return to the table with his wife.

"Well, it's time for me to do a walkabout," Maggie said. "It was nice meeting you." She stood and took her dishes in the reclamator before leaving the lounge.

"Same here, Maggie. Take care," Mikail removed himself from the chair and watched her leave. He picked up his tray of empty dishes and set it into the machine. It was time for him to get some sleep. He nodded to some crew members and left the lounge, heading to his quarters.
