ON:
-Captain's Quarters-

The lights were off as Azura and the family slept, it was a deep sleep that had consumed him to the point of motionlessness. He hadn't slept dreamless in a long while and tonight was the deepest sleep he had gotten since returning to the Redemption. The darkness was pierced by the flash of holographic light from PALLAS who had chosen to appear in the living quarters but project her voice just above the Captain.

"Captain, Ensign Marshall is on the move. He has attacked with phaser Danial Sutherland and absconded with Cadet Scott. Your orders?" PALLAS stated as Azura bolted up right in the bed producing a small hand phaser from under his pillow. He blinked several times as his brain caught up with the words that had been spoken. Several seconds passed before Azura's mind jerked into gear like a shuttle having thruster issues.

"Inform Commanders Doyl and Severide, have them meet me in Cadet Scott's quarters." he twisted to slip his legs out from under the covers. "Reverify activation of Sarah protocols, also is the radioactive isotope still active in Cadet Scott's blood stream, are we able to track his movements throughout this star system should they leave the ship?"

PALLAS nodded, not that the Captain could see her "Sarah protocols are active, all critical sectors of the ship have been secured and the telepathic inhibiting gas has been readied for all decks. The radioactive isotope is still strong enough as to allow me to trace the movements of Cadet Scott and by proxy Ensign Marshall through out this system. Also my annalists of Cadet Scott's quarters indicates that there is a canister of active virus located within." there was a pause "Gamma shift security has reported to Commander Doyl, she is on her way to Cadet Scott's quarters. I will alert Commander Severide immediately. Shall I also dispatch medical personnel to assess the danger the virus canister poses?"

Azura nodded "Yes, have them respond with full bio-hazard precautions, also shut off circulation of the air to the quarters and erect a level one force field. Should the virus escape the canister I dont want an incident on my hands."

"Very well sir." PALLAS said before her holographic light that had filtered into the bed room disapeared as Azura was pulling on his trousers and boots.

-Doyl's Quarters-

Gamma shift reported phaser fire in the quarters of Jody Scott. By the time security arrived, Scott was nowhere to be seen. However, there was a male in the bed with a phaser wound to his chest. There was also a device of some sort attached to his arm.

Maggie woke as soon as her combadge chirped. "Doyl here."

"Ma'am, we have an attempted murder in Cadet Senior Grade Jody Scott's quarters."

"On my way. Pull all logs and vids from the area for the last 24 hours. Check for anything out of the ordinary and seal off the area. Has sickbay been notified?"

"Affirmative, commander."

"Good. I'll meet the security team there. Doyl out." Maggie quickly dressed and headed for the Cadet's quarters.

-Scott's Quarters-

When Maggie got to the Cadet's quarters, two security officers were already carefully examining the room for evidence. "What have you got?"

"Possible lover's quarrel," one announced. "But we aren't sure about the wires in his arm."

"Don't touch him until medical arrives," Maggie said. "Not until we know what that does. And keep this quiet. I don't want word spreading until we can talk to Scott. The longer we have before he knows we're looking for him, the better."

She pulled out her tricorder and scanned the body, then swore when it registered what was in the vial on the man's arm.

Maggie tapped her combadge. "Doyl to Severide. Meet me in Cadet Senior Grade John Scott's quarters."

-Sickbay-

PALLAS appeared in a flash and looked for Lieutenant Kolmak, she approached him quickly and spoke.

"Lieutenant, there is a medical emergency in Cadet SCott's quarters. It has been quarantined until you and your group get there. There is the possibility of a biological contamination, as such the Captain has ordered full bio-hazard protocols to be in effect."

The assistant chief medical officer blinked a few times, not expecting PALLAS to be in sickbay. "Okay, I'm on my way," he stood up from his desk and went over to a cabinet to pull out the full body suit that is designed to protect a person from any biological contamination. After Mikail put on the silver material, he pulled the boots and gloves on and grabbed the half glass helmet to carry with him. In another cabinet, he pulled out the med kit, case of bio-suits, and attached a phaser just in case.

"Reeves, you are in charge until I get back," Dr. Kolmak said, looking at the medical technician near by before he left sickbay.

-Scott's Quarters-

Azura stepped off the turbolift and tugged on the outer grey and black jacket over his red turtle neck. He moved swiftly around the corner to see a group of officers gathered about the entrance to Cadet Scott's quarters. Scanning the faces he noticed that Doyl was there. He nodded to her.

"Report, Commander." he said to the nearest officer as he tried to get a handle on the situation.

'And I want a level ten containment field around the room until Medical clears it." Maggie was saying to another security officer. "Male, shot in the chest by a phaser, sir. He's alive, but there's a device attached to his arm that contains a virus. It requires the room to be quarantined until the virus can be safely removed." She handed him her PADD with the information about the virus. It wasn't something she wanted to announce out loud, but he needed to be aware of it. "I've ordered the logs and vids for the past 24 hours to be searched. I should have a report for you shortly."

He took the padd and looked at it taking in the information. He nodded "Very good, Commander." he took a tricorder from one of the security officers and began to scan from the outside. All the readings confirmed what PALLAS and Commander Doyl had said before. "So we wait." he handed the tricorder back to the officer he had taken it from and looked into the room.

"Unfortunately, most of what we do in the early stage is gather information and wait for test results," Maggie said. "That virus is concerning, but Medical should have it secured shortly."

The last security officer walked out of hte room. "We're done. Now it's up to medical."

Maggie nodded. Just then her PADD chimed and she pulled up the report. When she saw the section of vid that was included, she frowned. "Captain, have a look at this."

Azura took the PADD and nodded "PALLAS informed me that Marshall was responsible." it was an almost sigh but not quite "I should have locked him in the brig and programmed it to beam him into the void of space should he try to escape." he paused then shook his head "That man has been at the center of so many of the issues the Redemption has been through since we departed from Earth so many years ago."

"If you had the evidence to do so, you would have," Maggie said quietly. "All we can do now is make sure he doesn't get away with it this time. We need to get him and Scott back here alive and unharmed so you can put him on trial and then space him."

He rubbed the bridge of his nose "Talk to PALLAS, she's monitoring the movements of Cadet Scott." Azura raised a fist to cover his mouth as he spoke through the cough "I had him irradiated with a highly rare radioactive isotope that is not harmful to humans."

"I will," Maggie said. She gave a little half-smile at his other comment. That was a brilliant move. "Is there anything else you need from me?" She would also talk to PALLAS about the monitoring they'd set up for Marshall and the science department.

He shook his head "No, not at the moment I'm going to head to my ready room. When medical clears the room keep me in the loop of any new information you gather. I'm going to have West bury Marshal under the SFI building."

"An excellent idea," Maggie said. She would do what she could to make sure it happened. She'd never met Marshall, but since joining the Redemption, she'd had plenty of opportunities to learn about him. "I'll keep you informed, sir."

Azura paused as he saw the ACMO coming down the hallway from the turbolift. He nodded to himself that the man appeared to be in the proper level contamination gear. He stayed close by as there didn't seem to be much time to wait.

Doctor Kolmak approached the quarters and placed his helmet on his head. He handed the kit with the bio-suits to security. "Bio-suits here...put them on," he ordered. "Now, tell me what's going on". He set the med-kit down and pulled out the tricorder to do a long range scan through the wall of Scott's quarters.

Azura spoke up "You have a patient with a hypodermic needle in his arm. The canister connected to the needle, as far as we can tell, contains a large dose of the Hadronus virus." he pointed at the mans silver suit "Hense why we called for you. We would like you to remove the needle and canister and transport it to the secured biological containment area in Sickbay. It needs to remain in high level quarantine. I do not want and outbreak on this ship. Your next duty will be to render medical aid to the man inside. He was shot by phaser fire, from what readings we can get from out here he is in stable condition but I would prefer a professional's opinion on that."

"We've put up a level ten containment field around the room, just in case," Maggie added. "Our investigation is complete. The room is all yours. Do you need security to assist you?"

Azura nodded "I would think a few security officers should don the appropriate gear and enter the room with the Doctor. They can scan for any hidden secondary devices incase the canister is a ruse to get us to enter."

He nodded at the Captain and Maggie, absorbing the information of what was inside that they gathered. He glanced at the open tricorder after the beep. "One life sign with severe condition." Mikail noted the security was finished putting the suits on and he looked at the Captain, "How did you happen to know the virus is Hadronus? The device cannot identify the virus..." Second time, his realized his voice sounded alien to him through the communication system in his suit.

Azura took the PADD with the recording and cued it up to the beginning then flipped it around so Kolmak could watch and hear the exchange between Marshall and Scott.

The doctor made a serious look after he watched the recording. He whispered, "a terrorist on board? We do not want to cause a chaos. I've never seen or handled a Hadronus virus. This is a top level virus...," he paused, "Marshall and Scott? Are they roaming the ship?" He took a frustrating breath as this was something that was not in control.

Azura nodded knowingly "Less terrorist and more rouge agent, but we are handling that situation. Just follow protocol for highly contagious substances and you'll do fine Doctor."

Mikail turned and nodded at the security. "Okay, I'm ready." He strode into the room after passing the contamination field and through the doors to Scott's quarters. His eyes did a view around the room, seeing some furniture was overturn and a few broken glasses on the floor. He stopped when he saw where the body of Sutherland lay. Before he kneeled, he scanned the body again to get a better reading than from first time distance.

A security officer with a hazmat suit followed the doctor into the room.

"He has severe burns to his chest, but it has missed his heart." He set the med-kit on the floor and pulled out an osteogenerator to quickly sealed the epidermis of his skin. Maybe too late if the virus has set in through the damage tissues, he thought. After it was sealed, "we need to get him to sickbay in quarantine..."

"Agreed Doctor, though I think we can breathe easy if he had been infected he would be showing signs by now. Secure the virus in your transporting case and clear out. I'm sure Mr. Sutherland will be pleased you are caring for him." Azura said from outside the room, after Sutherland was removed her would head to his ready room and mull over what was going on on his ship.
