Mission: Errand of Mercy
Location: Admiral Thor's Office
Timeline: ED 8: 2145

ON:

Thor sat behind his desk and looked over the reports with Nathan out for the foreseeable future he had to replace him. He had chosen to promote Azura and place him in command of the Intelligence arm of Star Fleet. This had been most unexpected and had caused him to make some changes. He was reassigning Captain Gabriel Barron who was supposed to take command of the Redemption's sister ship the USS Attonement, and placing him in command of the Redemption. He looked up at the chronograph over his desk and then back at the display before him, Barron should arrive soon to accept his new orders.

The doors parted and a tall klingon in command red entered Thor's office, stepping smartly to the center of the Admirals desk before coming to attention.

“Captain Gabriel Barron, reporting as ordered Admiral.” the klingon's booming basso voice seemed to reverberate off of the walls of Thor's office.

“At ease Captain, take a seat. Time is short so I shall not keep you over much. You are not going to be taking command of the Atonement. Instead Captain Ashcart is being promoted and reassigned back to Earth, you are going to take his position as Commanding Officer of the Redemption. I'm placing you at the point of the spear. While you are free to rearrange the command staff of the Redemption as you see fit I would council you to resist changing them as much as possible. Ashcart is very good and putting together a team and those officers on that ship is the highest concentration of knowledge about our enemies aside from the Ee research institute. Do you accept your new orders Captain?” Thor asked his voice masking the weariness he felt.

Gabe nodded “Yes sir, I'll report to the Redemption and take command as quickly as possible. Has Captain Ashcart been informed of the change yet?”

“No, I'm going to inform him as soon as he gets out of whatever jamming field has been erected around the Hadronus system. Either that or your going to be a hell of a surprise. Take my personal shuttle, it's been equipped for long distance trips and will get you there within two days. Also, you have heard of the break-in at Star Fleet Headquarters? Your first mission as Commanding Officer is to track down the children that were stolen and get them back. Your authorized to break the warp limit on this mission. Any questions?”

Gabe's eyebrows went up “No sir, I'll depart within the hour.”

“God's speed Captain.” Thor said as he looked back down at his console and began to read the incoming reports that normally went to West. Gabe left the office and went to have his belongings beamed aboard the Admirals shuttle to start his new mission. He would familiarise himself with the dispatches and intelligence on the mysterious shuttle and the differences between the Atonement and the REdmeption as well as go over the crew reports and roster for the ship he was inheriting.
