Mission:
Errand of Mercy
Location: Secured Company Compound
Timeline: 2386
I remember the first time I laid eyes on you (Snickers). I swear your eyes were opened so wide I thought you were going to tear your eyelids open. Those big beautiful brown eyes....How many times I got lost in them....Looking into them was like watching a sunset, the serenity, the warmth....I could watch that sunset everyday and it would never get old, It never did.
Why did you come to a place like this? This place destroys people.
You were so naive....
[[Flashback, 2386]]
"Excuse me miss?" Came a feminine voice with a strong Russian accent from behind Geri.
"You're not excused." Geri replied paying no heed to the person behind her.
The woman bit her lip nervously in reaction to the cold introduction. She had been told to report to this woman yet the woman seemed to have no interest in contact with anyone, then again no one in this place seemed interested in conversation.
"Miss, I am supposed to report to you." The woman said softly hinting a nervous undertone.
Geri rolled her eyes knowing solely from the tone of the woman's voice she was sent a new recruit, a sheltered one at that. The woman behind her, whom she had never met was already growing nervous and apprehensive solely from a conversation with a superior. If she could not handle her own people how would she fair in the field?
What a joke She thought to herself.
"I doubt that." Geri replied hoping the girl would simply vanish.
The woman snickered. "No, I know I'm right. Hot Blonde with smoking body is how you were described."
Geri couldn't help but smirk. The girl had a little spunk in her after all. Perhaps Geri could give this little book a spine. She turned to face the girl erasing her smile on the way around. What she saw when their eyes met, they were not what she had expected. She had expected the woman before her to be young, exhibit obvious signs of nervousness, pressing of a toe into the ground, biting a lip, fidgeting. With this girl, there was something else and she just couldn't put her finger on exactly what 'it' was, 'it' was the only word to describe whatever she was feeling. The feeling was foreign to her, it made her feel as though she was dropping her guard.
"What is your name girl?" she asked.
"Tatyana Svechinskaya miss." Tatyana answered politely as she clasped her hands together doing her best to look confident and professional.
Geri perked a brow. "Why do you keep calling me Miss?" she asked curious of the woman's habit.
Tatyana bit her lip bowing her head.
"You don't have to be ashamed Miss. Svechinskaya. I only asked you a simple question." Geri responded to the gesture.
Tatyana nodded making eye contact with Geri once again. "I am trying to be polite, I am sorry if I have offended you."
Geri let out a half smile with slight chuckle. "No, infact that is how I want you to refer to me from this day forward is that understood?"
"Yes Miss." Tatyana replied bowing her head obligingly.
While this girl had spunk she had a mind begging to be dominated. Geri could sense the woman's obligation to want to serve someone. Either this girl had a mastery of empathic deception or she actually was the most trustworthy thing on this planet.
"Miss. Svechinskaya, do you see that vial of clear liquid over there?" Geri asked.
Tatyana looked over to the table where a clear vial of liquid sat. She turned back to Geri and nodded. "Yes miss, I see it."
"Put your hand in it." Geri said motioning towards the vial with her nose beckoning the girl.
"Of course miss." Tatyana replied without hesitation walking towards the desk. She studied the liquid for a brief moment noting it seemed harmless enough. It had no discernible smell and remained still within the vial. She slowly lowered her hand, fingers first towards the vial.
Geri, as if almost pushed towards the girl rushed to the table gripping Tatyana's hand tightly. "What are you doing?" She exclaimed.
"What you asked miss." Tatyana replied notably shaken by Geri's reply questioning what she had done wrong.
"Why would you do that?" Geri acted not dropping her tone.
"Because you asked me too miss." Tatyana replied.
Geri was taken aback and her expression reflected it. She grabbed a small pin from the desk dropping it into the vial. The liquid instantly began eroding the metal taking only seconds to erase the pin. "Had you put your hand in there it would have melted you skin in seconds. Why would you not try something else first?"
"Because I trust you miss, why would you hurt me?" Tatyana replied simply seemingly unphased by the demonstration.
"Rule number one, anyone has the capacity to cause you pain, especially if they are to benefit from it."
*********
Geri clenched her fist, a tear falling from her eye.
I would never hurt you....
