Mission: Errand of Mercy
Location: Holodeck Two
Timeline: ED 5

In the Holodeck Two, the Russian Doctor stood in a stance with his knees bent and his hands were together like a prayer. He is wearing a white "gi", a loose clothing used in traditional karate uniform and a black belt. He held his position for a good two minutes for meditation.

Mikail's skill in martial arts was for his own protection, exercise, and release of any tension.

"Computer, begin Kolmak B-Zero-One."

A Japanese man, thirtyish, appeared eight feet from him with madness in his face. He tightened his fists and ran towards him.

Doctor Kolmak ducked under the swing of his arm and snapped himself into the tiger mindset. There were other four animal styles for the karate system. He prefered the tiger because it involves defense. The strongest and deadliest in the Kingdom. All offense - one direction, always forward, and towards the prey.

The man came around to swing his arm at him with speed.

Mikail formed his hands as if he were gripping imaginary tennis balls and launched himself at him. He dug his fingers into the bicep of the man's swinging arm and ripped at the muscle, while striking the forearm on the same side, straight in with the heel of his palm, the "paw" as it were.

His memory of his master instructor: "first, attack the arm that attacks you..."

Next, he ripped into his face with the middle and forefingers of his right hand, raking along his nose and mouth. With the other hand, he struck his neck and dug his fingers in, grabbing the windpipe, cutting off his air.

The man clutched at his throat.

Mikail released his throat and elbowed upward into his abdomen, taking his center; rolling into a palm heel strike to the groin; and back into a rising elbow to the underside of his chin; arching down into another palm heel onto the bridge of his nose.

The man's body jerked from one direction to the other, in rhythm with each attack. Blood splattered from his nose and mouth. His eyes closed and he made a gurgling sound, flailing his arms impotently as he flew backwards.

"Computer, end program," he said after feeling the pain in his back where his post-injury is, reminding him that he is overdoing his exercise.

The man disappeared from the floor.

Mikail grasped a hand towel from an unzipped bag on the floor, wiping the the sweat from his face and neck, returned the cloth back into the bag. He picked up the hypospray, inspecting the liquid for the dosage and injected the medication into his upper arm. The pain was beginning to subside. He placed the instrument back into his bag and zipped it up. He left the holodeck feeling proud of Tiger moves, but felt some guilt of the damage he did to the man. He is just a hologram.
