Mission:
Errand of Mercy
Location: Cargo Bay One
ON
Ferreno was walking cargo Bay One, he had to see to the loading of the supplies and the other things that were supposed to be placed in the Cargo Bay for Processing. One of the things that Ferreno saw to right of the bat is the Medical supplies; thre are sometimes perishables that had to be taken into consideration. He would then go to the hydroponics supplies as seeds tend to be alive and not something that is replicated. The several containers for this section were already being placed on hover carts to be taken to the transporter and sent on the merry way.
He was checking off the supplies that were coming through the Processing Center. What he wanted to do more than anything is to get a feel for how the crew work together? the best way to effect change is to first evaluate the processs and figure what is not; as his Grandfather puts it 'Nota Broke , no fix' and it seemed the most logical way to do it. As it stood in Cargo Bay one he saw a unit that seemed to be functioning logically and efficently. He took the proper time of checking the manifest along with the delivery schedule. This team had been together for the longest and so Ferreno decided to just head off and check another Cargo Bay.
What would have seemed Logical was to go numerically but Cargo Bay 3 seemed to have a less active processing speed. He walked down to the Said Cargo Bay, and what he came into was organized chaos. The Lead of the team was giving orders; an older petty officer who would have looked comfortable gnawing on a cigar in one of those old Nay Holos his father was so fond of watching about 20th century war movies. While the Team lead was not actually smoking but he had that gruff tone and barked orders to the people with some agitation.
Taking a good vantage point he sat back and observed the shift working together, he took notes, mostly of the Lead doing his job but not being much of a leader that expects the crew to be experianced and able to do their jobs because they were trained to do it. He had not taken into account that they are trained but some of them were just out of the academy and not as experienced so what Ferreno needed to do here is give the lead a better selection of experienced people to allow him to not have to raise his voice while training the people.
Leaving without being really noticed is what he has sought to do with this observations; it was becoming an interesting endeavor to sum up the working crews and begin to get his team into an operitive format.
Next on his aganda would be to check on the loading of the Torpedoes, they were another thing that had to be supplied rather than replicated in transit. A quick ride to the Magazine level and Ferreno had his pace; the ships final shipment of weapons were being loaded. WHile it was the job of the Security and Tactical section to actually move the ordinance Ferreno did make it a point to be present when the shipmentscame in; the transport of teh weapons fell under his jurisdiction of the Operations Department.
With the 'pallats of torpedoes coming on board Ferreno watched as the technicians took great care in removing the weapons and gently moving them to the magazine racks. He did not need to really linger so he moved out of the area and started towards his office to make evaluations and recomendations to fix the problems he noted with his teams.
Given time he would make it an efficent vessel but it had to be a gradual change or he would risk messing up the dynamics; right now it was above standards he just wanted it as profiecent as possible.
Given time he would get it there.
