Barron sat in the command chair. His eyes locked on the displays.

"Con, dead stop. Reorient us to reduce the time the shuttles have to maneuver to get in landing bays. Once we have green lights from all birds plot the fastest course back to Sol." he looked over his shoulder "Marines, send general recall to all CAP fighters. Get the birds back in the nest."

He paused a moment to hear the confirmation of his orders and watched as the Redemption pivoted to bring it's shuttle bays to open for the incoming shuttles. He watched as the blue blips that represented the combat air patrol began to deaccelerate, pitch back and start to fire hard to return to the ship. "Raise the Admiral, give him our current coordinates and let him know we have the packages."

"Sir, SF HQ acknowledges our hail and wishes to inform us that the Kumari-III, the Steadfast, the Europa is en route to intercept and escort us back to base." PALLAS said from the corner of the bridge. Barron nodded and watched as the shuttles touched down and the first of the fighters started to slip into their docking bays.

"Very good coordiante with the captain's of all the ships and keep me up to date on ETA to intercept." Barron said as he watched the bridge abuzz with activity. "Bridge to sickbay, dispatch teams to the shuttle bays. We have wounded incoming." He fought back the urge to get off the bridge and go down to sickbay to help out but he knew his place was here, bringing order to the chaos.

"Sir, Engineering is saying the transwarp drive is available for use once the fighters have returned." the officer at Con said over her shoulder. Barron stopped and thought about that for a moment then dismissed the idea. Transwarp was still too untested. "Conventional warp at best speed Con." His hearts raced as the last green blip on the screen disappeared and the last red light on the board turned green.

"Engage warp Conn." Barron said as he leaned back into his seat. "Secure from Red alert. Set condition Yellow. PALLAS, eta to intercept with the escort ships?"

"At current speed we will intercept the Kumari in 18 hours. The Europa in one day two hours and the Steadfast in one day seven hours."

"Very good, maintain yellow alert for five hours. Once we are outside the space controlled by the Underdark and Sixth fleet stand down from yellow alert." Barron said as he changed the display on the arm of his chair and began going over the status reports from the ship.
