ON

Sular had his uniform pressed per the standard of course upon entering the bridge; he noted the finalizing of the work as he glanced down at the PADD in his hand; the transfer orders, he made a little detour to the OPS console. Gently touching the edge of it; cool metal under his fingers with that painted coating that was like glass to the touch and stimulating to his fingers. He slipped into the seat; it would only be for a moment actually, he placed both hands upon the console and it came to life after having lay dormant for so long. He had no doubt about the calibration; he started into the pull down adjustments of the displays to make it a little more to his liking. Dancing across the flat surface with well-practiced and experienced movements he was able toget the commands to activate; going through the process of booting up the communications diagnostic to check the process of the work being done.

Next he could go through the system power allocation grid; he was very aware and the whole network was not all that different from the previous ship that he had taken into combat. The allocations were routine with exception that he doubted the lack of Fighter Bays like the last ship he served would hinder his processing of the duties assigned.

Glancing up he did come to the bridge for a reason and the Captain's ready Room would be more of a likely place he should be; shutting down the console and 'laying her to rest again' Ferreno rose once again and strode to the door and rang the chime waiting entrance.

Azura was deep in thought the Admiral's words still hanging in the air after having talked to Rhyan. He had turned in his chair to look out at the spinning ball below, a marble of blue white and green. His thoughts were pulled back into the room he inhabited as the chime went off announcing someone wished to enter.

"Come." He said as he spun back around to the door to face who was entering. Azura's tall frame was hidden behind his desk and his black hair was pulled back into a pony tail that spilled down his shoulder on to the crimson of his uniform.

Ferreno entered the Readuy Room and walked silently up to the desk to offer the PADD. "Lieutenant Commander Sular Ferreno reporting aboard Sir." It was the Vulcan respectful tone, though subtle among humans one of similar heritage in his blood would understand the inflections. "I am your new Chief of Operations SIr." He said mildly.

Azura stood and took the PADD, without looking it over he nodded and extended a hand to the chair.

"Sit, please. Would you care for a glass of water Lieutenant Commander?" He asked as he moved to the replicator. It was customary to offer water to a visiting Vulcan.

"Thank you for your hospitality I would enjoy some." Ferreno said as he took the seat. "I have taken liberty to check the OPS console upon arrivial, the systems appear to be up to standards and the interface to the resource allocation is superior to the system I utilized on the USS Pathfinder. You have a fine ship to command Sir."

Azura grinned to himself as he listened to the other man's compliments of his ship. He ordered the water, 10 degrees Celsius, in a pitcher with two glasses. He poured the water and offered it to Sular.

"The Redemption is a unique ship to be sure. Don't worry if a woman in ancient grecian armor, that is Pallas, or resident AI."

"I see that the programer must have been human with a sense of humor." Ferreno observed. "I also have a probible calculation that the Daystrom Institute has integrated the latest version of their Artificial Intellegence into the Redemption Sir?" Ferreno had more concerns. "Would that also mean that the latest Holographic Emitters ; the Mark 12 system is also being utilized so to make her more accessible to the ship and crew as a general rule?"

Azura nodded and sipped his water he liked this man whatever else could be said about him a lack of tech knowledge wasn't among them.

"Your very astute Commander, after the Sixth Fleet activated Pallas and we brought the Redemption home Daystrom and the corps of Engineers spent six months poking and prodding the ship. Among those projects was outfitting the ship with the mark 12 emitters. While Pallas is intergrated into all of the systems and can step in and assist when needed her functionality is markedly reduced when she has to take over multiple departments as a whole. She is what allowed myself, Col. Moore and Major Afton to retake the Redemption and bring her home with just three officers. Granted we had two other ship's but she did yeomams service in the reclaiming."

"Then the OPS people still have the Jeffery Duties." FErreno commented. "I am glad that there are places that we cannot be replaced." It was an attempt at humor. "Is there any areas that I should look into from your point of View Sir?" Ferreno knew there are always logistical points that are not covered as well; if at all, with any refitting of a ship. "I am aware of the schedule; I took the liberty of studying the timetables to track the resourcdes. In that light are there any matters that I need to be seeing to directly?"

Azura smirked inwardly to himself and replied "I inquired about getting the emitters placed in the tubes. I was informed it was 'cost prohibitive.' So it would seem your duties are quite secure. As for what I want supervised. Please make sure that all medical ans scientific resources and supplies are brought on board with all haste. The mission were on now is an errand of mercy. The rest I leave in your capable hands."

"I will see to it." Ferreno agreed. "There should be a few members of the OPS that could be rearranged to see to the supplies." Ferreno contained the sly grin. "I will also see to getting more raw materials into storage so we can replicate anything that we do not forsee at this time but might come up at a later time during the mission, I find that having more resources is a better option than scrambling on site to adapt for the unknown. Having the added resources will not hurt our mission and if we complete the mission the raw materials can be returned to stores when we return."

He nodded "Abundance is preferable to scarcity, wise precaution."

"If I can make it where the OPS and Logistics are not on your mind then I will have done my duty." Ferreno confirmed. "I hope to serve this ship with all the Logical resorces that I can put into her Sir. You will have what you need from Operastions I can assure you." It was not a boast if he could pull it off?

Azura nodded again "That's all I ask Commander." Azura paused as if reflecting on anything else he might have wanted to say them shook his head slightly. "Is there any thing else I can do for you? "

"Aside from accepting the transferyou have done me a great service Sir." He Held up his right hand in the Vulcan sign. "Peace and Long Life."

Azura inclined his head and returned the gesture. "Live long and prosper."
