Mission: Errand of Mercy
Location: Captain's Ready Room
Timeline: ED 5 - 1315

ON:

Azura was sitting behind his desk looking over PADDs that had been deposited there by various officers from all the different departments of the ship. A cup of iced tea sat to his right as well as a half eaten sandwich of peanut butter and jelly. Just as he was reaching over to pick up the sandwich and take another bite on autopilot the red alert kalxtons sounded and the lighting of the ship dimmed. Inset horizontally into the walls of his ready room was the alert indicator, they flashed red as the image of PALLAS shimmered into existence.

"Captain, Major Blackburn's antler was attacked. From what I can tell several of the CAP have gone to intercept. We have lost contact with all. I activated the ship's defenses and the officer of the deck has requested your presence on the bridge." PALLAS said quickly as Azura moved with liquid grace out from behind his desk and towards the door that would open up on the bridge.

"Pallas, get the XO up here and get me information on what happened." as he strode thru the doors to bridge he called out to the helms man "Take us towards the fire fight. Hopefully proximity will lessens the effects of the jamming." He moved to the center of the bridge and sat down in his chair which was vacated by the junior officer that had been in charge of the bridge.

"Captain, it's fuzzy but from what sensors have shown us in this soup, there was weapons fire in the flight path of the Major's antler. We cant tell what's happened and we have lost contact with the members of the CAP that went to investigate. What I can tell you is that the Antler is no where to be found on sensors and what communications we have gotten from the CAP says they cant find the Antler either." a fresh faced Lieutenant JG reported from behind Azura.

The Captain nodded and weighed his options, they needed to find the Major and this attack was taking them away from the planet. He would have the Redemption investigate then retire it back to Hadronus to continue it's work on the virus. If they couldn't find the Antler or the Major between now and then he would assign the Marine XO with working the search and provide what support he could with Fleet resources.

"Thanks Murphy, if ever there was a time for your law to take effect it was now." he sighed to himself, "This mission just became more annoying."
