ON:
When Alexei first woke up, it took a moment for him to remember just where he was. Then it all came back to him - the drinks, the kisses, and most of all, the feel of her in his arms. He was in Bianca's quarters, in her bed, with her still sleeping soundly beside him. There was still time before they had to be on shift and he had promised her breakfast so that would be his first task. Slowly and quietly he got out of bed so as not to wake her just yet, then quickly walked to the replicator. Last night she had said her preference for breakfast was toast, jam, and a banana so that was what he ordered for her. For himself he ordered Katarrian eggs, scrambled, with sausage. Not knowing what she would want to drink, he ordered coffee and orange juice for the both of them. If she wanted something else he would gladly get it for her.
When their breakfasts appeared, he picked up the tray and carried it back into her bedroom and set it on the bedside table before sliding back beneath the cover with her.
"Good morning beautiful..." he said quietly as he turned his attention to her. "I have breakfast for you - just as I promised..."
Opening one eye, she grumbled softly "What time is it?" Her hand snaked out of the covers to snag her coffee cup and pull it down to her lips.
"Almost 0620," Alexei answered as he reached for his own coffee. "Time enough for breakfast and showers before we have to report for duty."
Grumbling again, she took a sip of the coffee and sighed. "I suppose we have no choice in the matter. Computer-suspend alarm."
"I don't like it much either but I suppose that's what we get for being a Starfleet officer and a Marine..." he said with a grin. "My department is still trying to come up with a way to cut down on the interference on the fighters subspace channels. Lieutenant Daxit has been working on it for the last 3 days but so far she hasn't made much progress."
"Mmph. I suppose...". A yawn split her sentence into two "you are right. There must be coffee first before I can think at all."
"Well we have both coffee and orange juice and for breakfast you have toast, jam, and a banana as I promised you last night." He looked at his own plate then added "Are you sure you wouldn't like some of my Ktarrian eggs?"
"I'm sure that I still don't like eggs."
"I know," Alexei said with a grin. "I'm only teasing you. Ktarrian eggs are somewhat of an acquired taste anyway." He could remember that it hadn't been so very long ago that it had taken him a couple of tries before he could get over the fact that the eggs were blue. "So what's on your plan for today?" He asked. "Anything special?"
"I do not believe so. Too early to tell however.". She commented quietly as she emptied her coffee cup.
"Would you like some more?" he asked before forking a bite of egg from his plate. "My cup is empty as well."
Nodding wordlessly she handed over her cup for a refill. Taking up a piece of the toast she spread butter and jam on it.
Taking their cups, Alexei went to the replicator and refilled them, When he got back he handed her cup to her before saying "You know, I think I could get used to this."
"To having replicator coffee?"
"No..." he said slowly. "To serving you breakfast in bed."
"incredible.". She muttered amazed at his words.
"Why is that so incredible?" he asked. "Wouldn't you like it?"
"I like it. But it's not something I ever thought about before now."
"Strangely enough I never have either," he admitted. "But it feels right to me now," he added as he continued with his breakfast.
Bianca snorted with amusement and closed her eyes for a long moment. A sigh escaped her. "You puzzle me.. "
"Oh really?" he asked, an amused smile on his face. "In what way do I puzzle you?"
"In all ways I think. " The dark eyed woman gazed at him for a long moment. "I don't know what to say."
"Then don't say anything," he said with a smile. "Just enjoy the moment." Then, thinking about how that might have sounded, he added "Not that I intend for this to be a one-night stand. I don't believe in those."
"What if I do?". She countered with a smile hovering on her lips.
Her question brought him up short--for it was a possibility he had not even considered. He paused for a long moment before answering as he considered the ways he could answer. Finally he realized that the best way was to just speak what he honestly felt. "Then you're not the person I thought you to be..." he said slowly.
She chuckled "You've known me for all of five days handsome. You don't know me at all."
"How long you've known someone doesn't always determine how well you know them," Alexei said. "You can know someone a short time and know them well or you can know someone for years and really not know them at all. I'll let you in on a little secret. The first time I saw you in the lounge, you almost made my heart stop."
"Lust, is different from knowing". she said softly as she leaned over and kissed him softly.
"Who says it was only lust?" he asked when their kiss ended. "Are you saying you don't believe in a possibility of love at first sight?"
"I have no data on the subject.". She said softly looking away from him. "No one's ever claimed to be in love with me before."
"I find it hard to believe that a woman like you hasn't experienced that," Alexei said. "I would have thought that guys would be lining up outside your door. And love doesn't require or involve data. Its' only requirement is two people who care about each other."
With that, he moved their breakfast tray from where it sat between them on her bed and placed it on the bedside table, then gently turned her back to face him. "We still have a little time before we need to get ready," he said as he snuggled against her once again.
Her arms closed readily around him and she inhaled his scent. It warmed her more than the blankets and she snuggled closer. "Do we have enough time?..." she asked in a husky voice.
He looked at the time display on the bedside table. "Half an hour before we need to get ready," he answered. "What do you think?"
Pulling him down atop her with one shapely leg she purred "Let's have a good morning huh sailor?."
