Empty Creche

Timeline: ED 4 0755 (Backpost)
ON:
On the second day after undergoing surgery, Mikail Kolmak reported to sickbay for an 8 hour light duty. It has been set for one day before he starts working a full shift. This time his schedule has been changed to work a day shift in the main sickbay instead of an afternoon shift in the secondary sickbay, due to the fact that he has a new position as a temporary Chief Medical Officer.
A little embarrassment stirred up his consciousness of having a back support wrapped around his torso just as he entered the doors of sickbay. He was ordered to wear it for only one day. His medication has been titrated to a smaller dose until he quits.
Mikail didn't care to see who was working while he headed straight to Major Afton's office to use her desk to catch up on his patients. The Chief Medical Officer took care of his patients while he was out. Now, he has moved into that title as temporary. But, for how long?
After reading several PADD's, he stopped to rub the sides of his forehead with his hands. A side effect from the withdrawal, he thought. At least no pain in the back. He removed himself to walk over to the replicator to order black coffee, hoping that the caffeine will help. He returned to his chair and sat down. He carefully sipped the hot drink.
Micheal Reeves chimed outside the CMO's door.
"Come in." Mikail glanced up at the door while setting his coffee mug down on the desk. Seeing the young man that he has started training him for a medic position, Kolmak waved his hand to a chair in front of the desk. "Have a seat. Is everything okay, Mister Reeves?"
Nurse Reeves took a seat. "Yes, I was seeing how you are doing, sir?"
"Just fine, thanks. Ma back is fixed but I'm on light duty today and got to get through these PADDs stacked up here. There will be no training this week until I can get back on my feet. I was recently moved into a temporary CMO position as they had Major Afton on the bridge as executive. I'm placing you as temporary lead nurse over the secondary sickbay. We don't have enough nurses to cover that area but enough here. Is there anything else you need?"
"I was... well, have you talked to SCPO Petrovna? She is Ukrainian."
He thought for a minute. "I do know her with a problem with an artificial kidney. Did she visited you?"
"Yes, she did. She was looking for you but she opened up to me with a headache. The scanner picked up high blood pressure but I couldn't treat her with medications. I gave her Burdock Root and Cardamom powder to use in hot tea. I hope it has helped her but I advise her to see you," Micheal said.
"Those are good herbs for blood pressure. Well, I haven't seen her in a few weeks. She will eventually need surgery," Mikail said. "Hopefully she is using the tea and keep the numbers down. You did well. Anything else you need, Mister Reeves?"
"No, sir," he quickly removed himself from the chair and stood at attention.
"You're dismissed." The Russian doctor watched him leave before putting his hands to his temporals to rub it. "Golovnaya boL," he said out loud in Russian, meaning headache. He picked up his mug and took more sips.
