The Redemption has returned to Earth orbit and sent the children of the Empty Creche back to their parents. The ship hopes for a few days to send crew down to the planet for debriefs, off loading of personnel and onboarding of new faces. While the Federation Civil war still rages across the quadrant the Redemption stands down for a quick overhaul to repair damage sustained in the last battle. The repairs are almost complete, just a few hours away from being back in fighting shape and shipped back onto the front lines of the war. A voice from the darkness, a communication to the Federation has been intercepted and instead of going to war the Redemption, with it's mostly operational transwarp drive is dispatched to find out what is wrong in the far flung section of space.
